The Tuber Magnatum is foraged in Italy, with the Alba truffle from the Piedmonte region considered the cream of the crop. So seductive is this specimen that it sells for anything between $10,000 and $15,000 per kilo, with record $330,000 paid for a 1.5 kilogram white truffle by Macau-based billionaire Stanley Ho in 2007.
