Paddington afternoon tea at The Athnaeum
Celebrate the launch of the new Paddington Bear movie with afternoon tea at The Athenaeum
In celebration of the release of the new ‘Paddington’ film, adapted from the classic story about a lost bear with a penchant for marmalade sandwiches, The Athenaeum Hotel and Apartments has released a special ‘Paddington’ afternoon tea available from now until the end of December. The Athenaeum has a tradition of making a stay in London magical for children, and unlike many luxury hotels, little ones are welcome throughout. A true family friendly hotel; from the dedicated kids concierge, which has special recommendations and games for children of all ages, to milk and cookies at bedtime, nothing is too much trouble.

The new tea menu includes all of the classic afternoon favourite: scones accompanied with homemade thick-cut English Marmalade and traditional finger sandwiches with a Paddington twist such as Marmalade Glazed Ham with Clementine Marmalade on Onion Bread. The Athenaeum’s famous cake trolley has had a marmalade makeover also, and now includes Chocolate Tea Cups filled with Orange and White Chocolate Mousse as well as Orange Bakewell Tarts.
By celebrating the film release of the classic children’s story with this afternoon tea, you will also supporting an extremely good cause: for every Paddington tea booked, the hotel will donate £5 to Action Medical Research to which Paddington Bear has been the official mascot for more than 35 years.
Thinking of staying the night? Paddington packages start from £468 and include a Paddington afternoon tea served in the apartment and your very own cuddly Paddington to take home.
