Miami Must-Dos: Your Weekend Itinerary

News, Travel | October 15, 2014

Another weekend is just around the corner — and as usual, it’s time to figure out what to do in Miami. To experience the best this glorious city has to offer, follow our Miami Must-Do’s and make your Saturday one to remember. We promise you won’t regret it.

7 AM: Try yoga on the beach with 3rd Beach Street Yoga

Rise with the sun and downward dog your way to the sand with early-morning yoga at 3rd Street and Ocean Drive. Donations only; takes place each day at 7 AM and 6 PM.

11:30 AM: Enjoy bottomless brunch at Taverna Opa

After you’ve showered off the sand, throw on something snappy-casual and head to Mary Brickell Village: Miami’s playground for upwardly mobile twenty-to-thirty-somethings and Yuppie elite. Once you’re there, go Greek or go home — Taverna Opa’s Mediterranean buffet and bottomless mimosas will have you sipping Champs until close with your bros, boyfriends and BFFs alike.

3 PM: Go shopping at Lincoln Road Mall.

After heapings of hummus, lamb, tabouli, Greek salad and Baklava, there’s no better way to walk off your food coma than with trendy shopping and beautiful people watching at Miami Beach’s Lincoln Road Mall.

5 PM: Go to happy hour at Doraku.

It’s 5 o’clock somewhere! While you’re on Lincoln Road, stop by Doraku for sushi, sake, wine, draft beers, Asian-style appetizers, and our personal favorite — signature lychee martinis — starting at $2.

8 PM: Have dinner at Drunken Dragon.

Run home for a power nap, a shower and a quick-change, and head back to South Beach to experience Miami’s only Korean barbecue restaurant. Pairing a “do-it-yourself” method of tableside grilling with modern Asian tapas and tiki-themed cocktails, this hidden haunt is tucked title-less in an Alton Road strip mall — so look for the “Market” sign and expect the unexpected.

10 PM: Finish the night at Foxhole.

A dinner-in-disguise can only be followed by covert cocktails — so when your meal is done, saunter over to Foxhole: Miami’s most popular speakeasy. Dodgy on the outside, but suave as can be downstairs, this lounge-worthy locale is the perfect place to sip on a classic gin cocktail, play pool, throw some darts and listen to your favorite jukebox tunes.
