Roger Vivier’s Limited-Edition Rendez-Vous Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

Set out in vibrant colors and notable cuts to resemble of a collage ensemble of a multitude of colored forms, Roger Vivier’s Limited-Edition Rendez-Vous Spring/Summer 2015 Collection pays tribute to the decoupages of late French artist Henri Matisse. The collection was revealed in July during Haute Couture Week in Paris.

In parallel to his visionary creativity related to shoe design, Monsieur Vivier also enjoyed creating collages that he would frame like paintings.Today Creative Director Bruno Frisoni has embarked upon an imaginary dialogue between the collages of the master boot maker and the decoupages of Henri Matisse. Luxury, freshness and spontaneity.

He has also called forth the iconic Miss Viv’ bag, with its architectural purity steeped in 1950s modernism. The bag boasts new interpretations as a slender envelope or larger holdall and is inscribed with patterns in fabrics of croco, calfskin and satin, as well as embroidery or rhodoid marquetry.  It is at once light and vibrant, and carries with it the decoupage effect influenced by Matisse.
