Dress For Success 20th Anniversary “Gangstas, Gals & Glam” Gala

Dress for Success is getting ready to celebrate it’s 20th Anniversary with an over-the-top gala on Saturday, October 11th. The theme “Gangstas, Gals & Glam” is a play on the 20th year, which hits a milestone of 50,000 people helped. The organization helps economically disadvantaged women get suits and other professional attire to help them enter or re-enter the work force.

This year, the Honorary Chairs are Jon and Maritere Secada, as well as Star Jones. Local 10 news anchors Laurie Jennings and Calvin Hughes will emcee the evening. Our “Honorary Gals” for the evening include CBS 4 entertainment reporter Lisa Petrillo; NBC 6 anchor Trina Robinson; actress, TV host and entrepreneur Adriana Cataño; and lifestyle director for Antena305.com, journalist and correspondent for CNN Español Paula Lamas. 

The event will begin with a silent auction with great gets like Grammy Awards tickets, bites by Miami Chef Nunzio of Bocce Bar and move on to dinner and dancing with entertainment by internationally renowned music group Tártara; maestro singer, pianist and entertainer Bill Campbell; and Alto Reed, Grammy Award-winning recording artist.

Local designer Julian Chang, who sells his creations around the world, will be designing a gown for auction, as well as dressing two Dress for Success success stories. “I’m so happy to be part of Dress for Success, I really believe that if you feel great and confident, it creates new opportunities,” said the designer to Haute Living.
