The world’s most famous maker of covetable and collectable minaudières has struck a nerve with fashionistas this season with their “Click” clutch. In a move in which one iconic American brand winks at another, the design is based on the Argus, vintage American camera. The camera was known as “the brick” and popular in the 1950s and 60s. The Argus was made with Bakelite and metal, but Leiber’s version quite a bit more precious, made with silver-tone brass and sparkling Austrian crystals. Say “cheese!”
