Summer in the Bay Area is all about enjoying the finer things in life. It’s a celebration of of food, wine, music, art and wonderful people…and don’t forget a few “save the dates” for fall.  Here’s a look at the week in review, San Francisco style.

Farm Dinner With Petaluma’s Bloomfield Farms on Sunday, July 13th

Have dinner plans this Sunday night?  As much as you may love to dine in the city, why not try something different with an exquisite farm to table experience at Bloomfield Farms. Get out of the city and cook with ingredients sourced from Bloomfield and its immediate neighbors – and that includes the wines that hail from vineyards a mere stone’s throw away.  On Sunday July 13th, from 4pm – 9pm, Michael and his team open Bloomfield’s barn to St. Vincent.  There will also be a handful of top-flight local winemakers in tow, including Pax Mahle of Pax & Wind Gap; Noah Dorrance of Banshee Wines; and Pinot Noir purist Jamie Kutch.  Hope to see you there!

Ehlers Estate White Party

Ehlers Estate celebrated the beginning of the summer season at the annual outdoor White Supper Party featuring the 2014 Estate Sauvignon Blanc and a gourmet surf n’ turf dinner. Guests had the opportunity to share a glass of Sauvignon Blanc with winemaker, Kevin Morrisey, while enjoying spectacular vineyard views of the gorgeous St. Helena area.

SFFCAPC Hosts San Francisco Social, a Pre-Gala Cocktail Party

The San Francisco Social held a cocktail party at Foreign Cinema to raise awareness for their annual November Gala, which will benefit the SF Child Abuse Prevention Center (SFCAPC). The mission of SFCAPC  is to prevent child abuse and reduce its devastating impact. SFCAPC was created in 1998 when two long-standing organizations, the San Francisco Child Abuse Council and the TALK Line Family Support Center. Quince Restaurant and Hedge Gallery Announce Pop-Up Dinners

Do not miss this chance to experience “culinary spontaneity”, as its called by Quince.  During a limited five-week period from July 30 through August 30, 2014, the two Michelin-starred Quince restaurant will move to the Hedge Gallery for a pop-up dinner series. This curATE dinner series will transform Jackson Square’s Hedge Gallery into an ephemeral dining room, designed and produced by Stanlee Gatti. For the first time, Hedge and Quince, along with five notable San Francisco galleries, will celebrate the convergence of two art forms – visual and culinary.

Each week, a different San Francisco gallery will exhibit at Hedge and install their own unique vision, to include modern artists of mixed mediums. With the changing space, will come changing menus, each featuring Chef Michael Tusk’s locally-sourced Northern California cuisine. While Quince is temporarily closed for renovations, guests will have the opportunity to indulge in the two mediums of art and food. Whether to view one select exhibit, or to view all five interpretations within the series, availability is limited and tickets will go quickly!

Glide’s 5th Annual Legacy Gala Coming on July 26th

Saturday, July 26th will be a night of good times for a good cause at The Regency Ballroom. Join the next generation of young professionals and philanthropists for the Glide Legacy Gala, a Love Supreme. This fifth annual black-tie affair is an evening of music, dance and celebration that recognizes the important work of up-and-coming change agents who are dedicated to improving the lives of others. This year, Christopher Gardner, entrepreneur and author of The Pursuit of Happyness will receive the Cecil Williams Legacy Award.  Tickets are $85 and can be purchased online.

Save the Date for the St. Regis Polo Cup on September 20th

The St. Regis Polo Cup will take place in Sonoma Valley on Saturday, September 20, 2014.  This is the first match to be held on the west coast and will establish Sonoma as a marquee destination on the prestigious St. Regis Polo international circuit.With St. Regis Connoisseur Nacho Figueras at the helm, the St. Regis Polo Cup will support Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of the disabled children through the extraordinary benefits of therapeutic riding. St. Regis polo events have attracted a glamorous group of followers over the years, with recent attendees to events around the world including HRH Prince Harry, Delfina Blaquier, Princess Beatrice, Valentino, Olivia Chantecaille, Olivia Palermo, Karolina Kurkova, Jessica Stam, Jason Wu, Jessica Hart, Michelle Harper and Joely Richardson, among many others.
