Lupita Nyong’o and Julianne Moore Celebrate the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

This weekend Veuve Clicquot brought the country club to the city! On Saturday, May 31, the brand welcomed a bevy of stars and more than 7,000 guests for the seventh annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic at Liberty State Park.

Aside from the champagne, the highlight of the match was undoubtedly the presence of the world’s most famous polo player, Nacho Figueras. Figueras was joined by his wife Delfina Blaquier and his son Hilario, who took to the field with his father to play on Team Black Watch.

It was a close match, with Figueras scoring six goals to lead Black Watch to victory over Team Veuve Clicquot 12 to 10. Figueras also received the MVP award.

The Seventh Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic - Match — Hilario, 14, scored three times as a stand-in for his father.

Guests included Julianne Moore, Lupita Nyong’o, Dakota Johnson, Olivia Munn, Aaron Paul, Behati Prinsloo, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Karen Elson, Leigh Lezark, Rebecca Minkoff, Mara Hoffman and Derek Blasberg.

Proceeds from the event will help support City Harvest, a non-profit organization dedicated to help feeding nearly two million New Yorkers facing hunger each year.
