Haute Ambassador Lea Black: Pump Lounge, Fun and West Hollywood Pride!
On June 6th I joined my friends and fellow Miami resident Diva Elaine Lancaster in West Hollywood for the Gay Pride weekend festivities. The annual PRIDE celebration draws over 500,000 people each year and remains a major focus for transgender, lesbian, gay, and bisexual pride in the greater Los Angeles area. This year’s Grand Marshall of the pride parade was multi-platinum selling artist Demi Lovato and at various different events throughout the weekend there were performances by Mary Lambert, Betty Who, Azealia Banks, Jennifer Hudson, Danity Kane, The Bangles and Deborah Cox to name a few.
One of the highlights of the weekend fun was the Friday night party at Lisa Vanderpump’s (of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) new restaurant and bar, Pump Lounge located at 8948 Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood. We all gathered in the garden patio under the stars, sipping cocktails and enjoying a selection of delicious bites. One of the guests I mingled with was was my friend, Jenni Pulos, from the Bravo hit TV show Flipping Out. The energy was electric and contagious and everyone was a having a great time. I love this destination, the décor is elegant but welcoming with French renaissance antique furniture accents, golden chandeliers, and a selection of hanging glass orbs. The menu is decadent with generous food portions and offers a selection of Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. If you’re in West Hollywood you need to make this restaurant a destination to visit for sure!
Over the weekend, there were a multitude of different events, including a magazine launch party, various concerts and other fabulous events- all leading up to the Sunday’s Pride Parade. The annual Los Angeles Pride Parade benefits the non-profit service organization Christopher Street West Association, Inc. It was great to be part of all the fun!
