The opening of CH Carolina Herrera San Francisco was a fête not to be forgotten. The Venezuelan queen of elegance descended on San Francisco on May 15th to celebrate the opening of her Union Square Boutique, hosted by ELLE’s Joe Zee along with California Pacific Medical Center trustees, Sloan Barnett, Carol Bonnie, and Carolyn Chang, M.D..

The Bay Area’s A-list arrived one by one, some dressed head to toe in Herrera’s designs, to greet the world renowned designer, whose impressive designs have been worn on First Ladies Jacqueline Onassis and Michelle Obama, among many.  Notable VIPs of the evening included Olivia Palermo, Marissa Mayer, Zack Bogue, Denise Hale, OJ Shansby, Diane Chapman, Mayor Willie Brown and Sonya Molodetskaya. Guests explored the 4,520 square foot, 3-story CH Carolina Herrera flagship while enjoying cocktails and a special DJ performance by Chelsea Leyland.

Prior to the opening festivities, Mrs. Herrera enthused, “I have always loved San Francisco. It’s such a beautiful city, rich in culture and full of women that love fashion and are always so chic. With CH Carolina Herrera stores in Costa Mesa, San Diego, and Beverly Hills, it only seemed natural that San Francisco be our next location in California.”

Founded in 1981 by Carolina Herrera, the eponymous label produces numerous ready-to-wear collections, as well as bridal and fragrances. With the creation of CH Carolina Herrera in 2001, the brand has expanded to encompass a full lifestyle collection, including women’s, men’s and children’s apparel, and accessories. The opening of the Carolina Herrera San Francisco store marks the brand’s 18th US location and 119th worldwide.
