Sunday Supper is Getting a Makeover at mk the Restaurant

In January, mk the Restaurant debuted a new way for guests to explore its award-winning wine cellar and exceptional cuisine with Sunday Suppers. At each Supper, guests enjoy a family-style feast with menus rotating each week. Due to popular demand, the River North restaurant is extending the dinner series to Monday and Tuesday evenings and holding a social media contest to select and celebrate the new offering.

Every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evening, guests can choose from a list of signature dishes served family style with accompanying dessert. Served in mk’s renovated lounge space, the Suppers cost $30 per person and recommended wine pairings may be added for $15 per half carafe. Perfect for groups of any size, reservations are accepted for mk’s Suppers in the Lounge.

Due to the extended special, the Sunday Supper name alone no longer applies, and the mk team is enlisting their social media following to help come up with a new name for the series.  Now through Friday, April 18, fans can submit creative name ideas for the Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday Supper series at mk via Facebook and Twitter using the hash tag #mknamegame. The winner will be selected and notified via social media on April 18 and receive a complimentary Sunday Supper for two at mk.

The menus for mk’s Suppers in the Lounge for April are as follows:

April 13-15

citrus salad of chicory, blood orange, cara cara oranges, olives,  parsley, pistachios

whole roasted loup de mere, fennel relish, sugar snap peas

carrot cake, cream cheese, candied walnuts and raisins

April 20-22

salad of baby escarole, poached artichokes, preserved lemon, calabrese peppers, pine nut dressing

bucatini fra diavolo, grated pecorino, pancetta, fresh bread

cheesecake, graham crackers, strawberries

April 27-29

radicchio, peas, pea shoots, capriole farms goat cheese, lemon vinaigrette

grilled rushing waters trout, charred ramp vinaigrette, asparagus and fried shallots

honey-yogurt rhubarb parfait, granola
