On Saturday, May 3rd from 11:00a.m. to 1:00 PM, two of Northern California’s most beneficial children’s foundations will be joining forces at the Stanford Stadium. The Wender Weis Foundation for Children (WWFC) and Fit Kids will host the first ever “Children’s Champions” event raising awareness and funds for their causes.
The iconic stadium will be transformed into the ultimate sports playground benefiting at-risk youth, and raising their self-confidence. Families and children of all ages are in for a joyful afternoon where they can participate in fitness activities, arts & crafts and games with Bay Area sports stars.
Among those scheduled to attend will include NFL Football players Alex Debniak, Will Tukuafu and Luke Marquardt of the 49ers, alongside Miles Burris, Trent Edwards and Latavius Murray of the Oakland Raiders. Also attending will be Stanford Football stars Shane Skov and Tyler Gaffney, US Olympian Brenda Villa, and many more. Accompanying the athletes will be infamous Bay Area mascots Lou Seal of the Giants, Stomper of the Oakland A’s, and Q of the San Jose Earthquakes.
The activities offered were all designed to tie in fun and fitness. There will be opportunities to mingle with the professional athletes, team mascots, and members of Stanford’s sports teams, with a chance to get to know the stars of your favorite lineups. Attendees are welcome to join in a three-legged race, run through an obstacle course, and participate in the arts and crafts on hand, all in support of both valuable foundations for children. Adults will not be left out either, as they will get to participate in Bay Area’s newest sensation, FitMob’s pop-up exercise classes. From 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, higher level donors will enjoy a VIP breakfast reception with exclusive early access to the event. This hour will also be attended by members of the Stanford football team, including stand-out Shayne Skov, who is projected to be the drafted in the first round of the NFL 2014 Draft, as well as by other Stanford teams.
Ticket and sponsorship packages range from $250 for a family of up to five to attend the main reception and $500 – $10,000 to attend the VIP portion. There are also opportunities to sponsor an at-risk child or family at Children’s Champions. All donors will join in the fight to provide children in underserving circumstances with encouragement and self-confidence.
