Gucci Hosts ‘Icons for Icons’ Exhibition in Dubai

Gucci recently hosted its second series of Icons for Icons, a collection of Emirati portraits involving iconic individuals who personify the face of the United Arab Emirates. Created in partnership with Canvas magazine and Emirati photographer Alia Al Shamsi, the images celebrate “The Future is Now” and Dubai’s role as the first Middle Eastern city to host the Expo in 2020.

The limited edition book made its debut at a private cocktail reception held at the Dubai International Financial Centre, The Gate. Guests were able to experience the imagery through a digital installation that enabled each visitor to act as a curator and create an individual visual path.
The book is a continuation from the first series, originally created in Kuwait last year to commemorate the opening of Gucci’s store in Al Hamra.
