Haute 100 LA Update: Sofia Vergara Releases First Fragrance
Sofia Vergara has the Midas Touch, and the latest item she’ll turn to gold is her first fragrance, the aptly titled Sofia.
The South American star’s signature fragrance also, quite fittingly, has notes of Colombian Rose, Colombian Orchid and blackberry.
“I usually don’t like getting into things where I don’t have a say. I just don’t want to give them my name and say, ‘Do whatever you want.’ I am trying to create my brand,”she told WWD. “I’ve been able to do many other projects. I have my clothing line, the makeup, the hair, the furniture, and this was something that really rounds out my brand.”
She added: “I have orchids and roses because those are my favorite flowers, and they’re Colombian. I wanted to bring a little bit of who I am, my ethnicity, where I’m from, and I thought it was very cool to be able to get flowers from Colombia actually into the perfume.”
The scent, which debuts on HSN April 24, will certainly be the latest moneymaker for the “Modern Family” star, who has earned the No. 1 spot on Forbes list of the Top Paid TV Actors for the last two years.
She also has endorsement deals with Cover Girl, Pepsi, Rooms to Go, Head & Shoulders and her own line of clothing for Kmart.
