Viva Max! took place at Tacos & Tequila at the Luxor on Thursday night. Guests enjoyed an evening filled with great friends and food in support of Max Jacobson on his road to recovery. Among those in attendance were Chefs to the Max ambassadors Al Mancini and Katie Conway joined by Jacobson’s niece, Emma Swarzman. Other notable guests included celebrity chef Rick Moonen, MGM Grand president Scott Sibella and Barry Dakake, executive chef at N9NE Steakhouse.

The benefit dinner donated 100 percent of the proceeds to Chefs to the Max in support of the recovery of Las Vegas food critic Max Jacobson, who was critically injured in late December. The event featured live music by T&T’s famous mariachi band and a cocktail reception with T&T top shelf margaritas and tray-passed appetizers. Guests also enjoyed a three-course sit-down dinner with tequila pairings prepared by corporate executive chef Saul Ortiz including spicy crab cakes, red snapper a la talla, lamb shank topped with mole verde and banana empanadas.

Tacos & Tequila owners Craig Gilbert and Michael Frey closed the evening by thanking everyone in attendance as well as all vendors and sponsors for helping to create an amazing community in support of Jacobson.
