Carmelo Anthony’s Haute Time Watch of the Day: Zenith Pilot Type 20 Grand Feu with Sapphire Case

Today’s Haute Time Watch of the Day is The Pilot Type 20 Grand Feu with Sapphire Case, a preview of the new pieces debuting at Baselworld 2014 from Zenith.

A spin-off of the 60mm Zenith Type 20, this Grand Feu version in white gold is combined with a sapphire case sculpted from a block of sapphire along with the white gold engraving on the bezel and lugs. This is the first offering from Zenith using sapphire to create the case, and perhaps one of the largest ever made. Adding to the creativity and design, the white dial features a grand feu enamel technique with sub-dials at 9 and 3 o’clock.

Powered by an original Zenith Caliber 5011K, pocket watch marine chronometer movement created in 1960, this is a special timepiece integrating the Zenith history and today’s modern accomplishments.

The Zenith Type 20 Grand Feu will be available as part of an extremely limited collection of 10 special pieces.
