The Miracle Mile Shops held a pep rally on Wednesday for the USA Eagles, who are competing in the 2014 USA Sevens International Rugby Tournament Jan. 24-26 at Sam Boyd Stadium.

The festivities began at 10:45 a.m. with music on the plaza outside PBR Rock Bar & Grill. The rally kicked off just after 11 a.m. with a performance by the USA Sevens cheerleaders followed by opening remarks from Miracle Mile Shops general manager Jerry Irwin and a welcome toast by former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman. Next, tournament director for USA Sevens Rugby and executive vice president for United World Sports Dan Lyle took the stage to announce USA Eagles captain Nick Edwards. Edwards then introduced members of the USA Eagles as well as Ahman Green, retired professional football player who currently serves as rugby liaison. Following Edwards’ remarks, students from the Coronado High School Drum Line took to the stage to close out the rally with a high-energy performance.
