Haute 100 LA Update: Mark Wahlberg Wins Best Action Star at 2014 Critics Choice Awards
Mark Wahlberg was one of the big winners at the 2014 Critics Choice Awards on Thursday evening.
The actor took home Best Actor in an Action Movie for his drama Lone Survivor.
During his speech, he thanked the real-life heroes who inspired the film, as well as the Afghan people that rescued Marcus Luttrell, on whose life the movie is based, in real life.
He said: “I wanna thank my wife and my kids for allowing me to pretend to be something as important as a soldier fighting in Afghanistan.”
Wahlberg beat out Brad Pitt, Robert Downey Jr. and Henry Cavill in the category.
