Haute Watch of the Week: L’Heure Envoûtée de Cartier

The metiers and gemset collections of Cartier always reach the outer limits of creativity without getting too crazy. This year at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva, Cartier presented several high jewelry pieces in the L’Heure Envoûtée de Cartier collection, among the more than 100 watches introduced altogether.
The elegantly arched crocodile dial is crafted in brilliant green enamel over a dial engraved to resemble the scales of the real animal’s skin. The diamond crocodile with emerald eyes and enameled leaves at his feet is removable from the dial of this watch, and can be worn as a brooch.
The case and alligator are both 18k yellow gold. The crocodile is set with brilliant-cut diamonds, with enameled leaves and green emerald eyes. The strap is green crocodile and the movement is quartz. The piece will be made in a numbered edition of 50 pieces.
