On New Year’s Eve, the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas closed the books on another monumental year with Grammy Award-winning recording artist Bruno Mars headlining the evening with a show-stopping performance to remember inside the resort’s new performance and entertainment space The Chelsea.

Mars kicked off the second night of his eight-show run at The Chelsea, igniting a sold-out crowd with his popular hit “Gorilla,” off his latest album Unorthodox Jukebox. The Chelsea’s avant-garde approach to entertainment and up-close setting brought guests just feet away from one of People’s sexiest men alive while he sang “Billionaire,” “Treasure” and “Marry You.”

As midnight approached, Mars started taking requests from the crowd, singing covers of “Jailhouse Rock,” “Hey, Soul Sister” and more before leading a countdown with his fans. At midnight, streamers rained over the crowd as Mars launched into “We Are The Champions” by Queen. Mars concluded his best year yet, by serenading his fans with “Locked Out of Heaven.”

Actor Rex Lee and hip hop recording artist Common rang in the new year at Rose.Rabbit.Lie., the resort’s new social club.

At Bond, deejay Miss Joy filled the room with electronic beats and high-energy mixes while at The Chandelier, Jennifer Keith Quintet’s classic American tunes took fans on a journey back in time to the age of Hollywood glam. Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub celebrated its third-anniversary as Surinamese-native DJ Chuckie wrapped up the final night of 2013 showcasing his “dirty house” rhythms mixed with dancing, bright lights and interactive stage elements.
