Four Aspen Athletes Headed to Winter Olympics

Four local athletes are headed to Russia for the Winter Olympics and Aspen is sending them off with community support during a rally in Gondola Plaza on Jan. 29. The skiers and skaters headed to Sochi are Torin Yater-Wallace, U.S. Freeskiing Team; Jeremy Abbott, U.S. Figure Skating Team; Simi Hamilton, U.S. Cross Country Ski Team and Noah Hoffman, U.S. Cross Country Ski Team.

Everyone is invited to gather on Wednesday at 4 p.m. for a brief proclamation from Mayor Steve Skadron followed by a ceremony and food and drink specials at Chair 9 inside The Little Nell. The Winter Olympics start Feb. 7 in Sochi and run through Feb. 21.
