Bradley-Cooper

Bradley Cooper may be known for his dashing good looks, but the 39-year-old actor is going to have to significantly tone down his sex appeal for his upcoming role: a Broadway production of The Elephant Man.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Cooper has landed the lead role of John Merrick, a deformed man that’s struggling with his physical limitations. In 1980, John Hurt took on the role for a move rendition of the hit play and wore makeup and prosthetics to capture the essence of his character. But Cooper, who is up for his second Oscar nomination, says that he will only use his body and voice to convey his character’s deformities.

No other casting decisions have been made, but The Elephant Man is slated to premiere on Broadway this fall.
