Emmy Award-winning chef and renowned TV host Lidia Bastianich joined nearly 30 Bank of America employee volunteers at Three Square Food Bank on Wednesday morning to prepare meals for area families. Collectively, the group prepared more than 6,000 meals.
The event featured a check presentation by the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to Three Square Food Bank for $29,000, which will provide approximately 87,000 meals to families across the Las Vegas valley. The event also included remarks from Matt Muldoon (Chief Development Officer, Three Square Food Bank), Lou Garate (Senior Director, NASCAR), Lidia Bastianich and Steve McCracken (Senior Vice President, Bank of America).
To help address the growing hunger crisis, Bank of America and Feeding America are working together to raise awareness—and support—for hunger relief through its Give A Meal campaign. For every $1 donated through Jan. 10, 2014, to Feeding America or local food banks via www.bankofamerica.com/hunger, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation will contribute $2 more, up to a total match of $1.5 million.
