One of Basel’s Most Exclusive Dinners with Murakami and Pharell, and YES I was there!

On Tuesday evening at the Penthouse of SoHO Beach House, Harper’s BAZAAR hosted a VERY exclusive dinner celebrating Takashi Murakami and his new film, Jellyfish Eyes, a project that blends together the art and fashion worlds. I did not know the true purpose of this evening, but when my dear friend Ali Samek asked me to be her guest to a dinner where the French Fashion House Sandro would dress us, with Pharell and Murakami for Harper’s BAZAAR, how could I resist such an invite?

Not only was the dinner attended by Murakami but it had select a-list guest list that included: Pharrell and Helen Williams, Nadja Swarovski, Laura Brown, Kate Foley, Emmanuel Perrotin, Helen Lasichanh and Rachel Tigges among others.

Live animated creatures from Murakami’s Jellyfish Eyes greeted guests upon their arrival. The crowd enjoyed sumptuous bites and sipped on champagne cocktails as they mingled amongst sculptures of the Jellyfish Eyes creatures. Afterwards, guests sat down for an intimate dinner on a candlelit terrace overlooking Miami Beach.
