Margrit Mondavi led a discussion about her recently published sketchbook, “Reflections on Wine, Food, Art, Family, Romance and Life,” at San Francisco’s Commonwealth Club.
Mondavi delighted in the telling of her European childhood, then swiftly changing her life as an American military wife with five children, living in the upper plains of the Midwest, through to her tasks today as a patron saint of the arts.
She and her late husband, Robert Mondavi, are inextricably linked with UC Davis, thanks to their $35 million donation to help build the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts and the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science.
