Faena Miami Beach Celebrates Art Basel With Baz Luhrmann and Leonardo DiCaprio

Add to the long list of amazing Art Basel-related dinners going on this week one more: Alan Faena, Len Blavatnik, Baz Lurhmann and Catherine Martin’s dinner at the Collaboratory at Faena Miami Beach. A-list guests including Leonardo DiCaprio, Harvey Weinstein and Norman Foster were on the scene, along with art world VIPS celebrated such as Larry Gagosian, Lisa Phillips and Bruce Weber. The festive night included musical and culinary highlights that transported the atmosphere and spirit of Buenos Aires, Argentina to Miami Beach. 

Acclaimed chef Francis Mallmann kicked off the evening by preparing dinner on his famous open fires and Argentine musical guests Lautaro Grecco and DJ Soledad Rodriguez Zubilleta serenaded guests throughout the evening. The dinner was accompanied by dancing, as the guests enjoyed performances by the Rojo Tango dancers.

Great Gatsby Director Baz Luhrmann, along with wife and two-time Academy Award-winning costume and production designer Catherine Martin, announced their collaboration on the Faena Saxony Hotel –one element of the Faena Miami Beach project– yesterday, in anticipation of last night’s event.
