Cielo Tapas Bar and Sky Lounge Set to Launch at the Dubai Creek
For tapas lovers a new concept is soon coming to Dubai. Cielo is a two-floor Spanish-themed tapas bar and sky-lounge at the Dubai Creek Yacht Club with panoramic views of Dubai set to launch in January 2014. The lounge/eatery will offer authentic and innovative cuisine in a Bodega-style restaurant complete with a chic roof terrace and live music.
“From the menu, through to music, décor and beverages, we are working with a highly experienced team directly from Spain – to create a concept which is unique and exciting for the residents and visitors of Dubai alike,” said Markus Thesleff, Co-Founder of Whissle, the Dubai-based full service boutique hospitality company that has introduced Cielo.
The Cielo Tapas Bar is modeled on the traditional rustic Bodega style venues of Madrid and Barcelona. The first floor offers favorite Spanish dishes, ideal for sharing, as well as an extensive selection of wines, sangrias and cocktails. Specialty Paellas include the traditional Paella Marisco Seafood Paella and the Paella de Fideua – a special form of Paella made with angel hair pasta instead of rice. Main courses include a range of meat, seafood, broths and canelones such as the Bacalao A La Vizcaina Vizcaina style Cod and the traditional Lubina a la Sal Whole baked salt encrusted seabass. The Tapas Bar will also feature a DJ playing Latin music as well as live performances from Flamenco dancers.
After dinner head up to the Cielo Sky Lounge – an open air terrace with spectacular views over the Dubai Creek and the city of Dubai. Cielo, which means “sky” in English, easily conjures up an image of a relaxing and refined setting where diners can relish in fun Latin tunes with a drink in hand while enjoying a marvelous Dubai sunset. We’re eager to experience this first hand!
