It’s the depth of off-season in Aspen, when many of the hotels and restaurants have shuttered their doors after fall in preparation for winter. But, life downvalley still bustles along. Head that way for the Taste of Basalt this Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Roaring Fork Club.

The event features food samples from dozens of Basalt restaurants, and proceeds benefit the Basalt Education Foundation, a nonprofit which helps to fund arts, music, and outdoors education in the midvalley.

The full list of participating restaurants includes Bella Mia, Brick Pony Pub, Colorado Candies, Cuvee, Downvalley Tavern, European Caterers, Fusion Catering, Heather’s, Ho Palace, Mauka Frozen Yogurt, New York Pizza, Riviera Supper Club, Riverside Grill, Smoke Modern BBQ, Stubbies Sports Bar, Taqueria El Nopal, Tempranillo, Upper Crust Bakery, Val’s Gourmet and Zheng.

The event runs from 6 to 11 p.m. Tickets are available online at basaltedu.org or at Midland Shoe for $85 for individuals or $160 for couples. At the door it’s $90, $170/couple.
