Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly spent $30 million to purchase four properties after hearing rumors that a developer wanted to purchase one of them and market it as being near Zuckerberg’s home. Details inside.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg purchased four homes adjacent to his own 5-bedroom home in Palo Alto to ensure his privacy. The 29-year-old billionaire reportedly spent $30 million on the properties after hearing rumors that a developer wanted to purchase one of them and market it as being near Zuckerberg’s home. Zuckerberg, however, isn’t taking over the properties; he plans to lease the homes back to the families that live there.
He purchased the first of the four homes in December 2012 and the three additional homes in September, 2013. He also owns a home in San Francisco’s Noe Valley neighborhood.
