Billy Joel to Play First Brooklyn Barclays Center Concert on New Year’s Eve
The great musician and performer, Billy Joel, is known to play concerts at Madison Square Garden but never has he played in Brooklyn, until now. On New Years Eve Joel is set to perform at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The arena, which can hold up to 19,000 concertgoers, is extremely happy to have the music idol. Brooklyn Borough President, Marty Markowitz and Barclays Center CEO, Brett Yormark held a press conference earlier today to express their excitement for the show, complete with a Billy Joel tribute performance by the Brooklyn High School of the Arts choir.
Tickets for the musician’s first ever Brooklyn performance, will go on sale at Ticketmaster.com on November 9 at 10 AM. The New Year’s Eve show will begin at 9:30 PM with Ben Fold Five opening the show.
