Bill de Blasio Receives $8,000 White Truffle from Admirer in Italy
Someone is pretty happy about New York’s recent election results! An anonymous admirer in Italy recently spent $8,000 on a rare Alba white truffle as a gift for Mayor-Elect, Bill de Blasio.
According to Grub Street New York, the fan purchased the 305-gram truffle at a charity auction held at Grinzane Cavour castle in the Piedmont. The gift will reportedly be hand-delivered to Blasio, who is part Italian-American, at his home in NYC.
