Aspen Skiing

Skiers and snowboarders: The winter season is officially here. Aspen Mountain opens tomorrow with 215 acres of top-to-bottom skiing. The Silver Queen Gondola, Ajax Express and Gentleman’s Ridge lifts will be open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

All season passes will be valid as they would be in the regular season. Lift tickets are $79 a day for adults, $51 for children, and $73 for youth and seniors. A ticket is just $55 for any current season passholder from any other ski resort. And, to celebrate the early opening, Ajax Tavern will sell $2 beers and $6 glasses of wine.

Aspen Mountain is only open Nov. 16 and 17, and then will officially open–along with Snowmass–for the season on Nov. 23.

Weather forecasters are calling for heavy snow this weekend, with up to 16 inches falling over the next two days. Shred on.
