$500 Milkshake Hits LA, Features Swarovski Ring + Gold Flakes

LA is a city of excess, which is why its resident may not even bat an eyelid to discover a boozy new milkshake to be introduced later this month will cost $500.

The Powder Room, a cocktail bar opening at the end of November,  plans on offering up opulent, secretive confections that come with a Swarovski ring (though we warn you, you may not want to imbibe the latter).

In addition to the $190 “Nirvana Montana Ring” — which manager John Arakaki believes is the modern-day version of Crack Jack prizes he loved as a kid — the milkshake will feature fine Belgian chocolates and edible gold leaf.

There is word yet on what actual spirits the alcoholic shake will include, as bartender Adrian Biggs is still developing it.

Other spiked shakes that cost substantially less will include a red velvet cake with frosting libation and strawberry vodka with brandy, shortbread and tapioca.

The Powder Room is set to open on Nov. 22. in Hollywood with a Nov. 14 soft opening.
