Level Shoe District Hosts ‘Let the Shoe Begin’

Level Shoe District, a metropolis in The Dubai Mall dedicated exclusively to women’s and men’s shoes and sneakers, recently celebrated its one year anniversary with Let the Shoe Begin, an event bringing together esteemed designers and a host of fun activities including a never-before-seen showcase of avant-garde dance.

The three-day event boasted over 500 guests including renowned designers including: Nicholas Kirkwood, Alberto Moretti, Edgardo Osorio of Aquazurra, Paul Andrew and the designers behind Louis Leeman.  Also attending the event were Dean and Dan, the twins behind DSquared, designer Phillip Plein, Bollywood favourite Shilpa Shetty, Chinese actress and supermodel Cathy Chow and Maya Diab.

In addition, a cast of leading talent from world-renowned West End musicals including Wicked!, Dirty Dancing, Oliver! and Singin’ In The Rainwere brought together to perform in ‘Let The Shoe Begin,’ choreographed by Ashley Wallen, who has worked with international stars including Mariah Carey, Nicole Kidman, Kylie Minogue, The Black Eyed Peas and Oprah Winfrey.

During the event a limited edition collection of luxury charitable T-shirts were unveiled, which feature a sketch from world-renowned footwear designers represented in-store. The exclusive t-shirts are available to buy at Level Shoe District, with proceeds going to Dubai Cares.
