The long-neglected mid-beach Collins corridor is really getting some love. Haute-lister Alan Lieberman and his son Nathan are restoring the 1938 Croydon Arms Hotel at 3720 Collins Avenue. Renovation construction is underway for a 100 room hotel complete with a boxing gym, pool and even rooftop solarium set to open by the end of the year. The hotel was much admired in its day, getting written up for Architectural Record in 1938 and will be in good company with nearby Beach House 8, the Faena District and Ian Schrager’s Edition

The hotel was purchased for $6.75 million and a further $15 million for the renovation is planned to add Croydon Arms to South Beach Group’s hotel offerings that include many boutique hotels on Miami Beach such as The Riveria, Catalina, Chelsea, Chesterfield and Whitelaw.
