Haute 100 SF Update: Danielle Steel Offers Advice Before Triple Book Launch
October is a big month for Danielle Steel.
The best-selling author, who has written 131 books to date, is releasing three new books this month: Winners, about overcoming some of the really tough challenges life; Pure Joy: The Dogs We Love, a non-fiction book about about the dogs in Steel family through the years along with some practical advice about dogs; and A Gift of Hope, also nonfiction, about the eleven years Steel spent on the streets working with the homeless.
Her advice to young authors: “Persist. Persist. Persist,” said Steel. She recalled how she sold her first book but not the next five. “But I kept doing it, and miraculously, the seventh one sold and it took off from there.”
Danielle Steel now splits her time between San Francisco and Paris.
