Famed Atlanta Chef Releases Her First Cookbook
For a chef as passionate as Anne Quatrano, food marks the passage of each season. In her first book, Summerland: Recipes for Celebrating with Southern Hospitality, Quatrano pulls from her twenty eight years of experience as a chef and restaurant owner to curate over 100 of her best recipes and entertaining ideas.
Along with her husband, award-winning chef Clifford Harrison, Quatrano operates four of Atlanta’s most celebrated restaurants—Bacchanalia, Floataway Café, Quinones, and Abattoir as well as a cook’s market, Star Provisions. She is also one of the most celebrated chefs in the United State, named Best Chef of the Southeast by The James Beard Foundation and best new chef By Food & Wine.
The book, which begins with the September harvest takes the reader month by month through the year of food, harvest and entertaining. Each month inspires the chef to think in new ways to use the season’s morsels but also new ways to set the table when celebrating with friends and family. This mix of culinary goodness and entertaining with Southern Hospitality is the recipe for this treasured tome. Peppered throughout the book are stories from Summerland- the farm that has been in her family for five generations and provides much of the produce for her restaurants. Summerland also serves as the idyllic background for many of the outdoor parties she documents in the book. The beautiful backdrop and gatherings are captured with the trained eye of photographer Brian Woodcock.
This must-have book is a great gift for both foodies and people who like to entertain. Even those who don’t do either, the book looks beautiful on any coffee table. Summerland is written by Anne Quatrano, with contribution by Sarah Camp Arnold. The book is available for purchase at many places including Star Provisions. To order your copy now, click here.
