Tom Ford Says Gwyneth Paltrow Is the ‘Perfect Person to Dress’

Unlike other designers who make it their mission to dress as many celebrities as possible for red carpet events, Tom Ford believes that it’s more important to dress the right celebrity. And for him, that person is Gwyneth Paltrow, who he famously dressed for the Oscars in 2012.

”I dress only celebrities who are real clients,” the 52-year-old designer told E! News. “I’ve been fortunate to dress who I want to dress. Gwyneth Paltrow for the Oscars that year was the perfect person to dress, and I didn’t dress anyone else.”

Though Ford is honored by his slew of celebrity clientele, he doesn’t give them discounts on his designer duds. “Most of the people I dress come into the store and actually buy the clothes at full retail price,” he revealed. “They are customers! They shop!”

Ford debuted his Spring/Summer 2014 collection comprised of jeweled dresses, biker jackets, leather skirts and animal prints during London Fashion Week on Sept. 16
