At long last Nordstrom at Glendale’s Americana at Brand has finally opened its doors.

The haute department store toasted its week-long opening celebration with a Tuesday evening party that also raised more than $100,000 for charity.

Attendees included Brand developer Rick Caruso, Jamie Nordstrom (President of Nordstrom Direct),Erik Nordstrom (President of Full Line Stores) and Blake Nordstrom (President of Nordstrom, Inc.).

The crowd of nearly 1,000 guests previewed the new store while dining on delicious savories like cabernet-braised short ribs, deconstructed beet salad, lobster salad cones, mini fish tacos, red snapper ceviche, and bacon bleu cheese sliders., sweets such as doughnut clotheslines, mini red-velvet drumsticks, sangria gelee and mini root beer floats and sipped on cocktails like sangria and margaritas.

The evening also featured informal modeling of looks from TOPSHOP, Hugo Boss, Burberry, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Helmut Lang, Miss Wu, Elizabeth and James, rag & bone and Alexander Wang.

POSSO, the live DJ and design duo formed by Marylouise Pels and Vanessa Giovacchini, provided the evening’s entertainment.

All funds went to Pasadena-based charity Hillsides and Glendale’s own Ascencia.
