Celebrity Hoops: Team Usher Beats Team Luda in Overtime

The celebrity basketball game was the most anticipated part of the LudaDay Weekend Celebration.  The game took place this past Sunday, September 1, 2013 as part of the weekend of festivities aimed at raising money and awareness for The Ludacris Foundation. ,Sponsored by Soul Headphones and Neuro Drink, the game took place in front of 3000 fans at Georgia State’s Sports Arena. Ludacris gathered his celebrity friends and fellow ball players (both NBA and WNBA) together and they formed Team Usher and Team Luda.  Professional athletes Shannon Brown, John Wall, Josh Powell and Jarret Jack played while James Hardin assisted Ludacris with his coaching. Celebrities including Raven Simone, Keisha Knight Pulliam, Teyan Taylor, Laura Govan, Tristan Wilds aka Mack Wilds, Big Tigger and more, all played in the game or supported from the sides.

It was neck and neck throughout the game and the final score was a tie. However, Team Usher pulled through and won during the five minute overtime. It was all in good fun, however, and the sold out-event raised an impressive $20,000 through ticket sales and sponsorship for The Ludacris Foundation.
