Tumblr Partners Bloggers With Designers for NYFW

Tumblr is partnering 20 NYC-based bloggers with 18 designers for two-week “apprenticeships” leading up to New York Fashion Week. Though the type of apprenticeships will vary, the bloggers will receive a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into a large-scale fashion show, while also giving them one-on-one access to a high-profile fashion designer.

Valentine Uhovski, Tumblr’s fashion evangelist, told Mashable that giving bloggers deeper access to the designers and the people they work with will hopefully strengthen relationships that will spark further collaborations.

The lucky writers will showcase the results of their apprenticeships at an upcoming NYC gallery exhibit at Milk Studios from Sept. 5 to 12. “[It’s a way] of elevating their art and collaborations into something that’s physical and offline,” Uhovski added.

To fully capture the experience, Sony has provided the bloggers with $750 DSLR cameras and Xperia Tablet Z devices.
