A good question for Trina Turk would be “where aren’t you these days?”

The LA-based designer has partnered up with Chandon, designed a wardrobe for Malibu Barbie and now is preparing to dominate the South Bay.

Turk is building a boutique in Manhattan Beach later this year, and also plans on opening 35 to 40 more shops in various cities around the country over the next few years, reportedly including one at The Grove as well as international locations.

She also plans on turning her brand into a lifestyle labelinstead of carrying her signature Palm Springs-inspired pieces.

She will be starting with a more “fresh and neutral concept” for her stores. She will also produce handbags, beauty items and a fragrance in honor of her brand’s 20th anniversary in 2015.
