Maria Sharapova Celebrates One Year Anniversary of Her Candy Collection at Henri Bendel
Tennis star Maria Sharapova recently celebrated the one year anniversary of her candy collection, Sugarpova, at Henri Bendel in New York City. Dressed in a teal blue dress with a black PVC overlay and ruffled hem by designer David Koma, the 26-year-old athlete posed for pictures and mingled with guests at her sweet soiree.
Sharapova also took the opportunity to launch her new accessories line, which includes pendants and purses branded with the company’s signature lips logo.
According to a report by The Times Of London, Sugarpova had initally wanted to temporarily change her name to “Maria Sugarpova” for the upcoming U.S. Open as a playful marketing tactic, but her agent, Max Eisenbud, ultimately decided against it. “We would have to change all her identification,” he explained. “She has to travel to Japan and China right after the tournament and it was going to be very difficult.”
