Scene Event: SF Symphony Inaugural Spring Gala Featuring Janelle Monáe

News | July 24, 2013

R&B singer, songwriter, and fashion icon Janelle Monáe, who rocked last year’s Black & White Ball, headlined the San Francisco Symphony’s first Spring Gala. The evening began in City Hall with cocktails and dinner, followed by the highly anticipated concert featuring Monáe and the San Francisco Symphony. Monáe’s soulful hip-hop and R&B style was a flawless fit for the new orchestral arrangements of her songs. mAfter the concert, guests were invited to a swank after-party in City Hall with live music, cocktails, savory treats, and a second VIP-only performance from Ms. Monáe. The Spring Gala raised money for the Symphony’s education programs, which reach over 75,000 children each year.
