If everything goes to plan, Elon Musk will have created a means of traveling that’s twice as fast as a plane.

The Tesla creator tweeted this week that he’ll officially unveil the first set of “Hyperloop” designs by August 12.

The Hyperloop will be a solar-powered people-moving tube that never crashes and can transport travelers between LA and San Francisco in under 30 minutes.

The billionaire tech whiz kid/Space X creator also added that his design would be open source.

Musk currently lives in Bel-Air and commutes to Hawthorne; he’s cited hating the 405 freeway as part of his reason for creating the Hyperloop.
