And so begins the 17th annual Electric Daisy Carnival, now officially underway at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The largest electronic music festival in North America sold out in a matter of minutes, and on Friday night, expected 115,000 revelers in attendance. Electronic music fans from all 50 states and across 46 international countries purchased tickets.

The festival features more than 500 artists ranging from deejays to theatrical performers, stilt walkers to fire twirlers. This year’s event features 20 art installations, eight art cars, seven stages, three graffiti walls and numerous amusement rides in addition to a nightly pyrotechnics display and special surprises throughout.

Before Friday night’s opening, photographers grabbed some images as the final touches of construction were taking place.
