Executive chef and co-owner of the Altamarea Group, Michael White, will be opening his first west coast restaurant inside Platform, a new shopping complex in Culver City.

According to LA Eater, Michael White’s new Culver City restaurant will be located 56 feet above the street and “set within a glass-enclosed rooftop greenhouse,” and designed with concrete and metal. Though specific details are not yet known, the restaurant will include indoor and outdoor seating, small plates and a bar.

White’s Altamarea Group is composed of New York restaurants Osteria Morini, Marea, Ai Fiori, Nicoletta and Costata; New Jersey restaurants Osteria Morini and Due Mari; and Hong Kong restaurant Al Molo. Marea is a member of the prestigious Relais Chateaux hotel and restaurant collection and has earned two Michelin stars. Altamarea has plans to open additional restaurants in New York City, Washington, D.C., and London.

The Platform shopping center in Culver City has 40,000 square feet of retail space and has been described as a “hip urban shopping center comparable to the Lab in Costa Mesa or Space 1520 in Hollywood.”
