More Than $1 Million Raised at GLAZA’s 43rd Annual Beastly Ball

Nearly 800 Angelenos went on “safari” to raise more than $1 million in funds for the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA) over the weekend.

The likes of Betty White, Valerie Bertinelli, Lisa Ling and Paul Song braved the wilds of the LA Zoo on Saturday evening to attend the 43rd Annual Beastly Ball.

Both NCIS star Pauley Perrette and Wells Fargo were honored at the event, which celebrated the Zoo’s forthcoming  Rainforest of the Americas habitat.

$1,074,665 was raised during an auction of items that included a Hawaiian getaway in a beachside villa on Kona’s Anaehoomalu Bay; an evening with GLAZA Co-Chairman Betty White, who leads a backstage tour of Rainforest of the Americas followed by a cocktail party among the animals; a private luxury suite at STAPLES Center for one Lakers game, one Kings game, and one Clippers game, including parking passes and a dinner buffet with cocktails; and an African safari with travel in opulent comfort on Turkish Airlines with a stay in lavish tented camps under the stars.

Beastly Ball participating restaurants included Canelé, Celestino Ristorante,The Federal Bar, Georgetown Cupcake Los Angeles, Green Street Restaurant, Il Fornaio Cucina Italiana, Taix French Restaurant and Villa Sorriso.
