Bang & Olufsen have long been known as the arbiters of perfect sound. That’s why B&O (as the brand is affectionately known) was tapped by Universal Music Partnership to help create the Academy Award-winning film Les Miserables.

Bang & Olufsen and Universal Music worked together using B&O technology to record actors Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried singing live as they filmed the movie (rather used a dubbed-in soundtrack). The brand also created an exclusive 5.1 surround sound edition for the film’s soundtrack to pair with B&O’s BL14 surround system, which allows users to experience the movie the way it was intended by director Tom Hooper.

This isn’t the first time the brand has teamed up for unique collaborations; B&O previously worked with Aston Martin and Audi A8 to integrate sound systems into their luxury automobiles. Meanwhile at home, the brand works to fit its speakers into any room, completed by a ‘Tower of Power’ subwoofer (which is actually comprised of six independent amplifiers).

The brand has given Haute Living a sneak peek at the BL14, a series of handcrafted and uniquely shaped speakers.
