Haute Ambassador Loren Ridinger : Amber’s Wedding Style

There are few fashion opportunities better than a wedding. So, when my daughter Amber announced her engagement to long-time boyfriend Duane McLaughlin, we couldn’t help ourselves. She is not only our only daughter, she’s our only child and we had to pull out all the stops. One thing she knew she wanted was a dress unlike any other, so she searched internationally, eventually finding J’Aton Couture, Australia’s premier couture design house. The dress took a team of ten people working 2,024 hours to make with over 100,000 Swarovski crystals. With all the crystals and a very long train, the dress weighed 70 pounds! J’Aton made another dress that was easier to dance in for the reception, as well as a diminutive dress for the flower girl. We had something borrowed; Jacob and Co created a $16 million tiara with 100 carats of diamonds that included a show-stopping 22.7 carat D color pear-shaped diamond in the center. And there was something blue: our dear friend Christian Louboutin created a pair of shoes with powder blue soles. We were all happy because, even though we had a team of the best designers and couturiers from around the world, the look that came together was 100 percent Amber’s.
